NINE MEN'S MORRIS

Each player is equipped with a set of nine pieces, known as "men," which are maneuvered across the twenty-four designated spots on the board. The primary aim of the game is to strategically diminish the opposing player's men to fewer than three, parallel to the objective in checkers wherein rendering the opponent with no viable moves also secures victory.

Initial Placement:

• The game commences with an unoccupied board. Players alternate in placing their pieces on vacant spots. Formation of a line comprising three pieces by a player entitles them to a "mill," allowing them to eradicate one of their adversary's pieces from play; eliminations from mills are irreversible. It is obligatory for players to exhaust other available pieces before selecting a piece from a formed mill for removal. Once all eighteen pieces are allocated, player rotation shifts to movement mode.

Piece Movement:

• During movement rounds, players shift their pieces along board lines to adjacent unoccupied spots. Incapability to execute this move signifies defeat.
• Similar to the placement phase, a player forming a mill by aligning three pieces on a board line can confiscate one of their opponent's pieces, prioritizing non-mill piece removal whenever feasible.
• A player who has dwindled down to possessing only two pieces relinquishes the ability to capture further opposing pieces, culminating in their loss.
